Default 10-20 fps :(

Hi i´ve been playing guild wars for about 4 months now and im running it from my hp lappy (Sempron 2800+, 512mb ram 2x 256 333mhz, Radeon Xpress 200m mobility 64mb, 40gb hard drive 4200rpm...)

I´m running the gfx card at 64mb ram (options are 32, 64 and 128 )since it shares my systems ram and i only have 512 , i have really bad lag all over the place my record so far was 32k ping spike and i know my system ain´t anything to brag about but it´s what i got and won´t be getting a new pc anytime soon.

I average between 10-20 fps and take a long time when moving to a city or entering explorable areas, the loading is really fast since i followed the guide to download all the files and defragment all of them got it down to 1file per frag but that only helps the loading time.

I´d like to know how i should have the game configured to speed things up, get better fps and not keep everyone waiting for me when we switch areas i already have settings on the lowest and have only gw and steam installed on my pc (fresh install) i have no antivirus running since i only game, email and visit trusted sites i do all the regular cleaning, removing every week..

Sorry about the long post and any help would be really appreciated

Forgot to add the fact that at towns with alot of people im always lagging such as kamadan, but in explorable areas im really slow at the beginnging then get better after the first 1-2 fights and can play smoothly for the rest of the area/mission.

If you want (slightly) higher FPS, try the -nosound and -dx8 command line switches. I'm not sure how much more you will get, but it's probably very, very little.

If you want to load maps faster, you'd need more RAM in order to minimize page file usage (which slows down load times).

Don't expect better fps, you are pretty much getting what you can out of your video card. Lower your graphic settings might help getting higher fps.

As far as your ping is concerned it has more to do with your internet connection so i'd be surprised if your PC. Might be caused by a virus though.

Adding more ram to your laptop might help you to get a better performance too.
